LAST UPDATED 20th August 2024
WEEKLY TIMETABLE
Dance Culture's classes are held in our air-conditioned dance studio at 474 Ipswich Road, Annerley in Brisbane, Australia.
Are classes running? Yes, all classes are running as timetabled below. We typically run our classes throughout the year, pausing briefly only for Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and Christmas. Any additional interruptions will be published on this page. Our low membership fees have already been calculated with these interruptions in mind
Total beginners: Check out our popular 4-week Introduction to Latin Dancing course. Now taking enrolments for the next course. No partner needed. No prior dance experience needed. Come solo, with friends or with your favourite human.
Already have some experience? Come and try the classes that interest you. Our classes run all year except for Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and we run a lighter timetable over the Christmas/New Year period. You do not need to book in advance to try a Level 2 class, just send us a message letting us know you're coming and then talk to us at the reception desk upon arrival. During the Level 2 class you can ask us to check if you might be able to move up to a higher level. Permission must be sought from one of our instructors to attend any level above 2. For permission to attend a class above level 2 please ask at the reception desk for a "level check" or ask your instructor during class.
When does the next teaching block start? Our classes run every week but our instructors teach in 4-week blocks. For you, this means that they'll focus on a topic for four weeks and then start on a new topic. For total beginners, the first level is called Introduction to Latin Dancing and has clear start dates set out on the course page. For those with prior experience with Latin dancing, the best time to join Dance Culture is during week 1 of a teaching block. We can accommodate you joining in week 2 but we would not recommend joining in week 3 or 4 (it is better to wait for the next block). The teaching block start dates can be found on our Google Calendar. Please note that Monday is the start of the week. This means that Sunday is the end of the week.
How much do classes cost? Please find the payment options at the bottom of the timetable. Please talk to us in person at the reception desk to organise payments (except for the Introduction to Latin Dancing course which requires online enrolment).
When do the doors open? The studio doors are typically unlocked 15 minutes before the first class of the day. Please contact us to make a booking if you wish to visit outside class times.
When is the next Latin Utopia Salsa & Bachata party? The intended dates for our parties can be found on our Google Calendar. Latin Utopia parties typically start at 8pm and run until midnight. The information for the next upcoming party is always available by visiting latinutopia.com.au (this will re-direct you to the Facebook event page).
